Hi folx,
I am the current proud owner of an HP tx1270ed
(tx1000 series) notebook. And I have gotten everything to work under
xpx64 (thanks in no small part to this website, among others! Kudos!),
except one thing: the bloody expressslot tv card. Officially its full
name is: HP model EC300 DVB-T TV Tuner. After some sniffing around I
discovered that this was a variant of the Theater 550 Pro chipset, also
in use by the Yuan EC300 and ATi Theater 550 Pro among others. My
question is, of course: does anyone know of any 64-bit XP drivers for
this? I tried the ATi, but it refuses to recognise my expresscard.
Maybe the driver files could be tweaked to force recognition of the
card or something, but that is beyond my current skills (though I'd
sure like to learn.) This is btw the LAST driver needed to make the
tx1000 series completely XP x64 compatible, so if we can get it to work
somehow I'll make a complete repack of all the drivers and post them
here, there, and everywhere else. (BTW, don't bother asking HP for
help, they're in bed with M$ and M$ has no interest in focussing on XP
x64 drivers while trying to force that bloated new OS of theirs on us,
whose name I won't mention because it'll make searching and finding
this page a LOT easier for people who are stuck up the same creek I am.)
regards,
- zweistein

Also,
if you go to Ati.com - drivers - download - xpx64 - tv card - theater
550 pro you can download catalyst drivers, and there's explicit mention
of the other brands under the Older Drivers section (any pre-catalyst
link mentions it). But it unfortunately doesn't like my HP card.
