    Installation restart "fails"

After solving the usual SATA problem, the XP64 installer copies over files, assures me that installation will occur after rebooting and reboots. Then XP32 comes up as usual. I tried booting off my SATA drive (where installation occurred) with no luck?

    What’s the next step?

    Re: Installation restart "fails"

    Try the following:

Update your driver disk to the latest version!!!!!!!      As you already know this disk is needed in the F6 part of the installation. The "old" driver on the CD which came with my mobo caused me to reinstall four or five times.

    other options

Look at the boot.ini file. Check to see if your freshly installed windows is set as the default. For more information on boot.ini check http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314081 for more information

Change the boot order of your drives. Make sure your SATA drive is set as the first hard drive to boot from.

    Hope this will help.
