    no usb ports detected

I have XP professional installed and working fine. I have tried to install XP x64 to dual boot the two, but I cannot get my USB ports working with it. Everything works fine in the 32 bit eddition.

When I try to reinstall the drivers in the System Properties it fails. x64 returns "Failed to install drivers" and "The details are wrong".

I've run a hardware diagnostics program and it does not even see that I have any usb ports or firewire ports while in x64.  I've installed the Nvidia chipset driver from their site and from the motherboard's site.  I've got the latest bios.  I've tried deleting all the USB stuff from device manager, rebooting and see if it installs.  I've tried installing x64 with nothing plugged into the USB ports.  x64 is just not powering the ports. As soon as the x64 bootup screen displays they shut down.  I get no errors in the System event log.

    Any suggestions?
