    Belkin Nostromo N50 speedpad.

Anyone know of any third party drivers to get this pad working in 64bit windows....Belkin seem unwilling to produce drivers for this device or the N52......

OMG....It looks....like...I will have to learn my WASD style again......eugh.....LOL

There is a program called JoyToKey that works.  The Nostromo is detected as a gamepad by windows and this program converts joypad functions to keyboard/mouse functions. http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm

If you could upload them to a megaupload.com I could grab them and add them to our driver archive.

    Re: Belkin Nostromo N50 speedpad.

I have been using these drivers for about a week now and I am happy to report that there are little to no problems with them thus far. However, a few annoyances I have noted are:

    • during the initial installation, it may sometime take a few tries to get the drivers to install properly; try unplugging and re-plugging in the USB cable several times and attempt to install each time; eventually they will "take" by the computer and begin to work properly
    • the "shift" function does not appear to work; for example to shift into RED mode in certain games to use different button functionalities...it's a no go
I'm sure there will be a few other things in the coming weeks; but for now these are the two major things I've noted about them.

Aside from that I would like to note that it is ESSENTIAL for Belkin to continue a high level of customer service and support as it relates to this product. In fact, it's essential for any hardware or software manufacturer who wishes to remain in good standing with the users, enthusiasts, and afficianados which buy their products. I'm feel pretty confident that I speak for many of us, if not all, when I say "We're getting sick of being yanked around by lack of support and drivers."

And not that I'm saying that Belkin has attempted or thought about doing this; but if this company, or any other company, DARES to refuse to update their drivers on the pre-text just to sell more hardware they will regret it. And for those of you community members who feel like I do on these issues we need to make it known to these companies and developers: we're sick of the crap and sick of the runaround we've been getting for 64-bit support. HP, Ubi, Belkin, Logitech, Saitek, ATI (especially you ATI, you are on my S. List right now for your HDTV Wonder stunt), and the rest of you whom should be in this sentence but are not - we are intelligent people, and we have memories like elephants most of us - tread lightly.

If you take one step towards us with 64-bit computing, we will take two steps towards you.
