    x64 and service pack 1 issue...plz help!

I cannot install Avid Xpress Pro because it says I need Service pack 2...well x64 integrates everything SP2 had into it's SP1. I know the program will run, I had it installed when I upgraded from pro and it ran fine, but I had to format my hard drive and start over, and I skipped installing XP PRO and went straight to 64... so is there a way to trick the computer or software into thinking I have SP2 and get this program running without having to install xp pro, installing the software, then upgrading to 64 again?  any comments would be greatly appreciated!

I am not familiar with Avid Express Pro but how about installing it on a WinXP Pro with SP2 first, the copy the whole folder across to your PC that has x64 XP and re-run the reg. file.

I know its possible with some softwares and games so why not give it a go.

And if it does have any dll files installed into the windows directory, you might have to copy that as well.

Try browsing the cd or whatever you are installing with and right click on the install.exe and set compatibility to 2000 or xp.

Did you succeed ? I have the same problem. I have 64 bit only and I can not install AVID XPRESS. I can not install either 32 bit dual boot because must be installed before 64 bit.

The compatibility XP 2000 trick doesn't work.

    Questions:

    1. How to install dual boot XP 32 bit on a system with XP 64 bit already installed. (pass always install older version first issue)

    2. How to trick XP 64 to show that it have SP2 so AVID XPRESS PRO HD 5.2.3 installation will work?

    3. From where I can get DVCPRO HD quicktime codec for Windows.

    Any solutions?
