Sad [:(] XP 64bit installation problem installation stalls.

I am currently having a problem with the Windows xp pro 64 bit installation.

I have downloaded all the newest drivers and created my RAID driver diskette. I boot from the CDROM, the setup begins to load, "hit F6" eventually comes up. Later I get to the "S" thing to choose the correct RAID driver. Once finished with the driver selection,  I can see it continue loading the drivers and stuff across the bottom. In a little bit it finally gets to "starting windows setup" in the strip along the bottom, and it just hangs there, needing a power down to reboot. I have let it sit for 15 minutes with nothing ever happening.

    Please help.

    System:

    P4 3.0ghz 64bit processor

    MSI 925XE Neo Platinum MB

1gig of DDR2-533 dual channel RAM

    Western Digital SATA150 80gb HD

Geforce 6600 PCI Express 16 video card

The wireless LAN PCI card that came with the MB

    ATA HP dvd burner

    and a floppy

I take it the drive have been configured in the raid setup menu.

I remember Nvidia raid drivers requires users to load 2 drivers........a Nvidia Mass Storage Controller and the Nvidia Raid Drivers.

When I first tried, loading only one without the other will not work with the install.

I am not sure about the Intel chipset drivers though

If you are talking about the evaluation version try downloading the ISO file again and burning a new CD.

If the OS was purchased sounds like it is corrupt, I would notify the seller and ask for another CD

Re: XP 64bit installation problem installation stalls.

Okay, I have the exact same problem as described.

I have a Nforce 4 chipset on my asus motherboard.

    I run a 64xp3000.

Over the last 3 days ive burnt 5 CD's sourced from 3 different locations. 1 was the trial. 2 were from bit torrent, seperate torrents, different size bit torrents. All ended up with the exact same md5sum. All of them halt on "Starting windows". All i want to know if its worth buying or going back to linux.

I do have one MAJOR problem with the bootup with the setup. I don't have a floppy drive. How do i add mass storage device drivers? Why cant i use my other CD rom? Why can i not use my USB drive? Now none of you can answer this buy im frustrated.

I will look into the prospect that the BIOS needs updating. Perhaps that will solve this problem (wouldnt surprise me). Ill try to keep this post updated...

This might be worth a try. Take out your wireless card and everything else you dont need to instal windows and add them later.

    Just an idea.
