Re: Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0

    Hi,

Just had a quick try out of SAV10 x64 in conjunction with Avast 4.6pro..Geeked [8-|]

Some points to note.. I disabled MS antispyware 1st, and disabled Avast during the install

and 1st av scan with SAVx64.

No problems occured, however when I re-enabled Avast I had an immediate system hang, and had to power off and on again.

On completing the reboot, and logging into Windows I got a popup from Avast to the effect it

was disabling some of its protection in order NOT to clash with SAV10x64...Wink [;)]

So far so good.. but I've yet to try opening up MS Antispyware beta again...

    Any odds on what happens?

    Regards,

SAV10 and Microsoft Antispyware should be able to co-exist just fine.

But, that theory is totally untested Smile [:)].

Re: Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0

    Hi Ryan,

Yeah, MS Antispyware works ok with SAV10, tried it out with both SAV10 & Avast running and no problems.

The only thing I have noticed with it, is that unless you have just run a scan it wont minimise to the toolbar as it does under WinXP x32... Dispite that option being set... not serious, just I'm used to it working from the toolbar in the background without having to run a scan 1stWink [;)]

The thing to note about SAV10 is its lacking some of the functionality of NAV afaik, like no script blocking. Given its missing some of the features in NAV running Avast pro alongside it seems to be a reasonable idea right nowIdea [I]... Belt and braces approach to protectionGeeked [8-|]

    Cheers,

When installing norton corporate 10. Would you install to program files or program files(x86)?

The default will install it to (x86), except for a 64bit native driver which goes under program files.

Re: Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0

I am in dire need of help with my Symantec install.

First of all, I am a newbie to x64.  I am not a newbie to computers or XP, just not as familiar with x64 yet.

What I have is the corporate edition of Symantec 10.0 and it will not install on my machine.

It is an HP XW9300 with x64 service pack 1.  Dual Opteron core...yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, the error I get can be seen here as a screen shot.

Anyone have any clue why this is a problem?  I have googled and look all around with no results.

The machine came with McAfee, but we use Symantec as a standard here.  I have uninstalled the McAfee and rebooted already.  I am using the SavWin64 latest and greatest.   I would prefer to use 9.0 as that is what our servers and clients are normally, but it complains right off the bat and says I have to go back to the vendor for the version.

    Any ideas? :'(

    Thanks,
    Shorty

This is kinda old but if you ever read this, go to the cd root and open something like sav64 and open up the only executable in there and just use default everything and it will go like butter
